As it has been reported widely, thieves may be interfering with the locking signals of remote locking devices on vehicles.
This type of loss would be rejected by an Insurer if cover for the items in the vehicle is subject to forcible and violent entry into the vehicle.
It would therefore be prudent for a vehicle owner to ensure that the vehicle is indeed locked before leaving the vehicle. Do not assume that the vehicle is locked merely because you pushed a button. Rather check first before walking away.
Do not leave valuables in an unattended vehicle, however, if you have no choice then please ensure that the items are not visible to passers-by.
In your interest, please check and ensure that vehicles are properly locked to prevent frustration if a loss is suffered.
