CRIME ALERT
Recent statistics indicate a massive spike in burglary and robbery incidents in the form of both opportunistic attacks and planned invasions. We are dismayed by this recent crime spree as every hard working South African is.
In cases involving crime an armed response alarm system is required to be installed to protect against this very obvious and high risk exposure.
Unfortunately, many alarm systems do not comply with the basic requirements of the conditions imposed by the insurance market. To ensure client’s are compliant with the standard industry related cover conditions we recommend each client request a S.A.I.D.S.A (South African Intruder Detection Services Association) By Law 25 certificate from their security / alarm company. Systems compliant with this By Law ensure that the necessary record of activations, power supply and battery disruptions as well as system alerts are activated and working. If a system is not compliant it is very likely insufficient to comply with standard crime cover conditions.
In short, it makes no sense paying insurance premiums covering crime and private security / alarm monitoring fees, both of which rely on a functioning alarm system, only to find out after the unfortunate event that the alarm itself is not working as it needs to be.
